Privacy notice
Last updated: 25 October 2026
This notice explains how I use personal information when you visit my professional website, contact me, request an ebook or subscribe to my newsletter.
Who is responsible?
I’m Liz Baker MCIM FIDM, based in the United Kingdom. I am the data controller for the personal information I use to handle enquiries, provide resources and manage my newsletter through this website.
You can contact me about your information at liz@lizbakermidm.uk. This is my receiving email address, even though this website is called lizbakerfidm.uk.
What information I collect
- Contact details: your name, email address and any other details you choose to include in an enquiry.
- Messages and resource requests: your message, the resource requested and company size where the form asks for it.
- Your choices: communication preferences, subscription status and records of when and how those choices were made.
- Technical and service information: providers may process IP addresses, browser or device details, timestamps and logs to deliver and protect their services. Email delivery, opens and link clicks may be recorded by the email service, depending on its settings.
Most information comes directly from you. Existing contact details and preferences may also be transferred from my Mailchimp audience to my personal HubSpot account. Moving a record does not itself create newsletter permission.
Please do not include sensitive information, such as health or financial details, in these forms.
What I use it for
- Responding to enquiries: to read your message, reply and manage any follow-up. My lawful basis is legitimate interests in communicating with people who contact me about my work. If you ask me to take steps towards a contract with you, the relevant basis may instead be taking those steps at your request.
- Providing requested resources: to provide the ebook and template you ask for and help with any download problem. My lawful basis is legitimate interests in fulfilling your request.
- Newsletters and optional marketing: to send the communications you have chosen to receive. I rely on your consent for these optional communications. The choice shown on the form explains what you are agreeing to.
- Managing preferences: to record consent and respect opt-outs. My legitimate interest is maintaining accurate preferences and avoiding unwanted messages. Where a particular record is required by law, I rely on that legal obligation.
- Website operation and security: to provide the website and forms and prevent misuse. The relevant legitimate interest is running a reliable and secure website.
Providing your information is voluntary. If you leave out details needed to reply or fulfil a resource request, I may be unable to complete it. An enquiry or ebook request is not, by itself, permission for newsletters or other optional marketing.
How the forms work
The contact form, newsletter pop-up and ebook form are embedded POWR tools. POWR collects the information you submit. The contact form and newsletter pop-up are configured to pass details to Mailchimp, which is connected to my personal HubSpot account through a contact sync. Email addresses are used to match records between Mailchimp and HubSpot. The ebook form is also provided by POWR; its onward connection is subject to verification.
The website itself does not use a custom form-submission database on its hosting platform. This is separate from the technical information processed to host the website. POWR, Mailchimp and HubSpot are separate services with their own processing arrangements.
Who receives information
- POWR: hosts and processes the embedded forms and newsletter pop-up. See POWR’s privacy information and data processing agreement.
- Mailchimp: holds contact and audience information, communication preferences and relevant email activity and passes mapped contact details through the HubSpot sync. See Mailchimp’s data processing terms.
- HubSpot: holds my personal website contact records and synced information for managing professional conversations and newsletter activity. See HubSpot’s privacy information and data processing agreement.
- Website hosting providers: the site is published through ChatGPT Sites and its hosting infrastructure. Providers process technical information needed to deliver and protect it. See OpenAI’s privacy information.
- Google: the editable persona template opens in Google Slides when you choose to make a copy. Google handles your use of that service under its privacy policy.
Information may also need to be disclosed where required by law or to deal with a legal claim. A privacy policy from a provider describes its practices; it does not replace this explanation of how I use your information.
Processing outside the UK
These providers may process information in the United States and other countries outside the UK. Their published processing terms describe international transfer protections, including standard contractual clauses with UK provisions and, where applicable, recognised adequacy arrangements.
POWR’s terms provide for UK transfer clauses. Mailchimp’s terms describe the Data Privacy Framework and contractual safeguards, including the UK Addendum where applicable. HubSpot’s processing agreement describes its transfer arrangements. The applicable terms are linked above. You can contact me for information about the safeguards relevant to your information and how to obtain a copy.
How long I keep information
I use the following criteria rather than one fixed period for every record:
- Enquiries: whether the conversation is complete, whether follow-up is still reasonably needed and whether there is a related ongoing professional relationship or legal matter.
- Ebook requests: whether the resource has been provided, whether any support is outstanding and whether a limited record is needed to demonstrate how the request and preferences were handled.
- Newsletter details: whether you remain subscribed and the newsletter service is continuing.
- Consent and opt-out records: the minimum information needed to demonstrate your choice and prevent further unwanted messages while I continue the relevant marketing activity.
Information that is no longer needed for these purposes should be deleted or anonymised. An unsubscribe does not necessarily remove the limited suppression record needed to respect it. Records connected to a legal obligation or dispute may need to be kept until that need ends.
Changing your mind
You can withdraw marketing consent at any time using the unsubscribe link in a newsletter or by emailing liz@lizbakermidm.uk. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that was lawful before you withdrew it.
Your right to object: you can object to the use of your information for direct marketing at any time. You can also object to processing based on legitimate interests because of your particular situation.
Your information rights
Depending on the circumstances, you can request access to your information, correction of inaccurate information, deletion or restriction of its use. Where the conditions apply, you can also ask for a portable copy of information you provided. These rights are subject to the applicable legal conditions.
Email me using the address above to make a request. I may need proportionate information to confirm your identity before providing personal information.
Cookies, embedded tools and links
POWR loads embedded content from its own service. Embedded tools and hosting services may use browser storage or cookies for functionality, security and preferences. Blocking third-party content in your browser may stop a form from working.
GA4 and Google Tag Manager have not been added to this version of the website. This notice and any relevant cookie controls will be updated when analytics or other tracking is introduced. Provider cookie and email-measurement settings remain part of the checks before the public launch.
Following a link to Google Slides, LinkedIn or another website takes you to a separate service. Its privacy information applies to your use of that service.
Questions or concerns
Please contact me at liz@lizbakermidm.uk if you have a concern about your information. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.
Updates to this notice
I will update this notice when the services or purposes change. The date at the top shows the latest revision.
